The central board of secondary education is going to organize joint entrance examination (jee) main for admissions into ug engineering degree courses at IIITs, NITs & other centrally funded technical institutions. IIT joint entrance exam main is the qualifying examination for iit jee advanced which provides admission into iits. Moreover, the applicants can allow three attempts for the entrance exam. Recently, cbse published jee main notification and information brochure. Applicants planning to appear in the national level examination can apply online for jee main 2018 by filling of jee main application form. Applicants can fill up their online application from 1st December 2017.

Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Details
Joint entrance exam main is a national level ug engineering entrance test. The exam conducting body, cbse will conduct jee main pen and paper based exam (offline) on 8th April 2018 and jee mains CBT (online) on 15th and 16th April 2018. In addition, entrance test will be organized in hindi, gujarati and English languages. The jee (main) contain two papers, jee mains paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) & paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning). Aspirants can appear paper 1 or 2 or both as per the program.
JEE Mains Exam Mode
The jee mains paper 1 will be held in two modes, pen & paper based test (offline) and computer based test (online) mode. Furthermore, paper 2 will be held in offline mode. So, aspirants will choose for either offline or online modes for the paper 1 only.

JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria
- Aspirants appearing for joint entrance examination (main) must fulfil jee main eligibility criteria.
- Aspirants must have passed 12th class exam in 2016/2017. The aspirants appearing in the 12th class or qualifying exam in the 2018 may also apply for iit jee entrance exam.
- General category aspirants must have obtained at least 75% marks or must be in the top 20 percentile in 12th class examination. Qualifying marks for aspirants belonging to SC/ST is 65% marks.
- At least five subjects must have been studied in 12th standard.
- Aspirants can appear for joint entrance examination (main) for maximum three times.
JEE Main 2018 Application Form
Interested & eligible aspirants have to apply online to participate in jee (main) examination. CBSE is released jee main application form on 1st December 2017 at jeemain official site. The jee main application last date is 1st January 2018. In addition, aspirants can fill & submit the online application before the last date of application.

JEE Main Application Correction
The organizing body will also publish jee main application form correction facility for aspirants to correct the incorrect details in the application. Moreover, jee mains application correction facility will release after a week of submission of application.
JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern
- The entrance examination contains paper 1 and paper 2. Joint entrance examination main paper 1 is for aspirants seeking admission into B.E/B.Tech and paper 1 is for aspirants taking admission to B.Arch/B.Plan courses. Aspirants can participate in one or both papers.
- IIT jee paper 1 will be held in online (CBT) mode and also offline (P & P) mode. Joint entrance exam (main) paper 2 will be conducted in offline pen & paper based mode.
- The paper carries multiple choice questions or objective type. In addition, drawing test will be subjective.
- Duration of entrance exam will be 3 hours.
IIT Joint Entrance Exam Mains marking scheme:-
- Aspirants will get four marks for right responses in paper 1 and MCQs in joint entrance examination (main) paper 2.
- One mark is deducted for wrong responses in paper 1 and MCQs in joint entrance examination main paper 2.

IIT JEE Main 2018 Syllabus
The exam organizing body, cbse provides jee main syllabus subject wise at its official site. Those aspirants are planning to take part in entrance test must check and download syllabus for entrance exam. Furthermore, jee mains syllabus gives the aspirants idea about the topics and sections asked in the examination.
IIT jee main paper 1 syllabus:
- It includes topics & sections studied in 11th and 12th classes in mathematics, chemistry and physics subjects.

Download JEE Main 2018 Admit Card
Central board of secondary education will issue jee mains admit card in second week of March month. The admit card for joint entrance exam (main) will be published online for aspirants who have applied & submitted the online application form. Aspirants can enter the details such as application no. and DOB to obtain iit jee admit card. After downloading hall ticket, aspirants should check all details displayed in the admit card. The jee main admit card or hall ticket display the necessary details like roll number of aspirant, name of aspirant, course, category, medium of paper, examination date, test centre details, etc.
IIT JEE Main Exam Centres
Central board of secondary education will be organized joint entrance examination (mains) at 248 cities in India and 10 cities in abroad. Aspirants have to select four exam centres in case of pen and paper based exam and one exam centre in case of CBT exam while filling jee main application form. Moreover, the final jee main exam centres details will be released by the cbse on admit card.
IIT JEE Main Answer Keys for Paper 1 and Paper 2
The conducting body will display jee main answer keys from 24th April to 27th April 2018. After the examination is completed, aspirants must download their answer key through online mode. Aspirants may also get jee mains response sheets with answer keys. The aspirants need to check the solution key and then compare their response with the official keys. Moreover, aspirants can challenge the official answer key.

Aspirants after appearing for the entrance test are searching to know the ranks. Several coaching centres developed jee mains rank predictor tool which is help the aspirants to get rough idea about their expected rank before the result. Furthermore, rank predictor contains rank obtained by aspirants in the exam. Rank predictor also displays the qualifying status of the aspirants for jee advanced exam. JEE Main 2018 Result
Examination organizing body will announce jee main result online on its official site. The jee mains All India rank of paper 1 will be published on 30th April 2018. Moreover, jee mains paper 2 results will be announced on 31st May 2018. To get the result, the aspirants need to enter the roll number & DOB. In addition, the result will contain scores obtained by aspirants in exam and qualifying status for iit jee advanced.

Exam conducting board will publish jee main rank list along with result. Aspirants may check their rank list in online mode. The rank list will be released based on actual scores of the aspirants in the examination. In addition, jee mains rank list contains All India rank & category rank. JEE Main 2018 cutoff
Central board of secondary education will declare jee main cut off score. The cutoff of jee mains is the minimum marks that aspirants have to score to be eligible for iit jee advanced. Moreover, the cutoff marks are display the qualifying status of the aspirants for admission into IIITs, CFTIs and NITs. Cutoff scores are also the qualifying scores for participating in iit jee advanced for IITs admission. In addition, cutoff marks will decide based on various factors like number of aspirants appeared in exam, difficulty level of examination, availability of seats, etc.
JEE Main Participating Institutes
The jee main participating institutes will offer B.Tech admissions to qualifying aspirants. Participating institutes include 23 CFTIs, 31 NITs and 23 IIITs. Moreover, There are several state college & private institutes which provide admissions to B.Tech courses on the basis of aspirant’s score in the test.
JEE Main counselling and seat allotment
IIT jee main counselling & seat allotment process will be organized by JoSAA. JoSAA will organize counselling process in June month. Moreover, counselling & seat allotment will be organized online for B.Tech admission into CFTIs, NITs and IIITs. For participating in online counselling process, aspirants have to complete the process of registration, online choice filling and locking.
